Blebricks technology can be successfully used to implement new ideas, products or applications in the field of environmental control, including the detection of air pollution levels (which cause greater exposure to Covid-19 risk) and the prevention of forest fires. 
A set of wireless and portable sensors is used to detect air quality, the presence of pollutants, smoke particles and environmental parameters.

Determine the PM2.5 and PM10 Particulate Concentration

Creation of the prototype and proof of concept
Thanks to our instant prototyping system, it is possible to prototype each electronic device, in a few moments, with costs of a few tens of euros, depending on the sensor configuration chosen.
The prototype device is usually supplied in the Expert version and therefore enclosed in a housing that allows it to be worn or fixed to assets or to pre-existing structures.

3D-FLEX service
With our 3D-FLEX service, we can provide prototype housings that can also be used outdoors and housed on poles to customers who request them. The housings are printed in 3D-FDM and can be customized, for each specific application, with logo and colors chosen by the customer.

With our MakeApp it will be possible to configure and verify on site, via smartphone, the functioning of the individual sensors.

Finally, through Bricksboard, our online platform, it is possible to analyze the data transmitted by the sensors in real time, consult their history and, for outdoor applications, locate the sensors on Google Maps. It will also be possible to set specific actions such as sending messages or e-mails, and activating other local devices when certain events occur, such as exceeding critical values ​​revealed by the sensors used.

Finally, the customer can create his own software using our libraries and / or the documentation of the protocols used. Alternatively, you can take advantage of Software solutions created by our Partners for specific applications.

a) Prototype of the hardware device
With the BLE-B you can measure the temperature value as well as manage any Blebricks with auxiliary sensors / actuators including:

PMx: to measure the concentration of particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10)
CO2: to measure the amount of carbon dioxide present in the environment
OAQ: for the measurement of Ozone (O3) and nitrogen oxides (Nox)
SMS: for the measurement of soil temperature and humidity
UVA: to detect exposure to UV-A rays
WND: to measure the wind speed
PLV: for measuring the quantity of rainwater Finally with Blebricks:
RPS or XPS you can choose the most suitable power supply for your devices
SFX or NBT it will be possible to build an LP-WAN network to send data directly to remote servers / stations.

b) Check the functioning of the sensors
Using our MakeApp or the Bricksboard platform it will be possible to immediately check the functioning of the sensors and set alerts in case particular conditions occur.
The sensors can be configured locally via Bluetooth through our MakeApp available for Android devices and which can be used for:

Collect the data transmitted by the sensors on site
Configure devices (transmission intervals, BLE power, event detection, etc.)
georeference the devices at the time of installation by sending the coordinates detected by the Smartphone itself.

c) The Application Software
The customer can download our Java or PHP libraries or the technical documentation necessary to create their own software. Alternatively, you can use the services and / or specific Software solutions already available (or developed by our partners for specific applications).
The BricksBoard platform can be used with all modes of data transmission and collection. There is also the possibility to customize the dashboard to allow further processing in addition to the following:

  • visualization of the data coming from the single sensors
  • graphs with the historical data of the individual sensors
  • display of the position of the sensors on Google maps for outdoor use
  • activation of alarms upon the occurrence of particular events (e.g. threshold exceeding).

d) Data transmission
The data may be transmitted in the following ways:

  1. Smartphone and MakeApp
    It is possible to detect the data transmitted by the sensors locally within a range of tens or hundreds of meters and view them on the Smartphone. It is also possible to download any logs of recorded data, starting from the detection of a particular event. If needed, the MakeApp also sends the information to the server for subsequent viewing and processing.
  2. Gateway
    Our gateway with BLE5.0 technology (which in free field can cover distances greater than 300 meters) uses the WI-Fi, Ethernet or 3 / 4G network (optional). Through the gateway it is possible to send information from the sensors in real time to the server, and without requiring any operator intervention.
  3. LP-WAN
    By adding a Blebrick type SFX or NBT, using the Sigfox or 4G (NB-IoT) network, it is possible to send information from the sensors to the server in real time and without requiring any operator intervention

Realization of the custom product
Following the validation of the prototype in the field (PoC), the customer will be able to obtain the supply of their industrialized and customized devices even on small series, through the “Fast Route to Production” service, a turnkey solution that offers services of:

necessary to transform the prototype into a product with optimized costs, form factors, performance and consumption including, on request, the housing of the final device;

Production and testing
taking advantage of the fact that predefined production processes, testing equipment and procurement structures, already validated and started, are reused;

with the benefit of reusing parent modules already certified for CE certification or any others upon request.
The “Fast Route to Production” service uses Blebricks technology to provide the customer with their own customizable product with their own logo. It is an economical, fast and reliable solution that integrates the prototype devices used for the PoC on a single support, eliminating redundancies in order to make the final product more compact, efficient and less expensive, reducing on average time and costs 90% development compared to competing solutions
